stylish ladies black jacket for formal wear

vivienne westwood ladies jacket 134335 1998 zoom Every Women should have a little Black Jacket as well as that little black dress on standbyThere are not many pieces of formal clothing that will go with almost anything, but there are a few. One such thing is the black jacket. Though it doesn’t really go with brown, it will go with almost anything else. It is considered to be a neutral color, and that means no matter what you wear, your coat will probably be just fine. It might not look good over all white, depending on the trends, but it would still work in a pinch.

Though wearing a black coat with navy pants in a business suit is not ideal, it also works in a pinch. Black should be paired with black in those cases, but if you don’t have any black pants that are clean, the navy will work for the most part. This is why you see so many of this type of black jacket around in the stores. They are the top sellers, and they make up a majority of most professional wardrobes. Again, it depends on the trends, but they are usually always in style in some form or another.

When it comes to outer wear, most can get a black jacket and feel it will go with most of what they wear. You could have different colors for different outfits, but in the long run, that can be very expensive. Even if you own a few of them, chances are good you can feel comfortable with your black jacket whenever nothing else seems to work. This goes for the spring and fall type of light jacket as well as the heavier coats for winter. That color also works well when buying some dressy for evenings out or for the workplace.

When shopping for a black jacket, look carefully at the care instructions. Some of them will hold their shade of black very well, and others will not. Some will warn against fading by giving specific instructions for washing them. If you follow the care instructions carefully, your black jacket should remain mostly the same shade for quite a while. A jacket that costs more will retain color longer anyway, so remember that when you decide how much you want to spend and what type you want to buy.

There are a few that can’t really wear a black jacket, because the color makes them look very pale, or because they have dandruff and hate the flakes hitting their shoulders and lying there easily in view. Those types might want to have a jacket in grey, as they tend to have the same ability to go with many things, but they are less severe against the skin, and flakes won’t show up quite as well.

Are they ever not appropriate? Do we remove for National Anthem, like men do for baseball-type caps? Can they be worn to evening weddings?

Ladies' hats are appropriate for any event. They do not have to be removed for the National Anthem or for any other reason. If someone will be seated behind you for a wedding or some other event, don't wear a hat that is so large it will block their view.

    Ladies, Why Even Wear Underwear?

I mean really? I understand if you need something to hold a pad in place at times.... but why on a day to day basis even wear them? They are not used for "supporting" anything are they? I'm a guy and I don't go around wearing a bra just because. I hate underwear and if I did not need the support I would never ever wear them. Just wondering, honestly, whats the point? Most truthful and informative answers gets the 10 points. Thanks.
what about when you are not wearing tight jeans... not all women wear tight clothing.
    rudeness will be deleted.

Okay why would you want you underparts rubbing with your jeans anyway. Ive never heard anyone ask that before. And underwear does give support to your bottom. You dont want to see woman running and look at their butt wobbling up and down do you?

Whilst on holiday in the Bahamas, I've invited you to an evening walk along the beach, in a moment of weakness you've accepted, what would you wear ?

those transparent wrap around body pieces over something black or pastel, so if your hot you can remove it or if you find your having a good time and want to show off your curves. That is kinda like discreetly cool, or covered up if it isnt going well......if your curvier you might go with capris and a spaghetti strap skin colored tank top or white tshirt, but no shoes..........enjoy your life and the feeling of where you are no matter who your with.

If so, would you pay $49.00 for a 1.6oz. bottle of it today? That's what it sells for in the Vermont Country Store catalog.
c504....I'm with you! I hope the price will come down, so I can buy some. It'd be great to be able to wear it again.
*granny*.....It is indeed the classic perfume that was so popular when we were growing up. It left the store shelves in 1969, & people who shop online via vermontcountrystore.com, requested that there be a search for this perfume. They found this "classic" perfume & offer it for what I consider to be a ridiculous price.
Paul N...Your input is welcome anytime. It's nice to have a man's opinion on the subject of perfume. It had such a sweet scent & it's no wonder so many ladies wore it. I'm going to shop around on the net & see if I can find it cheaper than $49.00, as that's a bit much.
lorr...Thank you so much for the detailed info on EIP perfume. I appreciate it very much. Thanks for sharing that info with us.
mydearsie...I always bought that perfume at Woolworth's also.
Autumn Leaves...Thanks for the info. I didn't know that.
Tired Old Man...One never knows what they'll find in a box of things bought at an auction.

My sister did and I would sneak in her room and use it

Evening in Paris perfume was created by Monsieur Bourjois in 1929 (it was his first and in French it was called SOIR DE PARIS). It became one of the most famous perfumes throughout the world, and it also became an immediate success and a favorite during Word War II.

To this day this beautiful fragrance conjures up the headiness of wartime dance halls, seamed stockings and G.I's. It has been re-launched in limited quantities as Soir de Paris - this classic fragrance is as heady, romantic and evocative as ever and has been beautifully repackaged in a unique cobalt blue crescent bottle - timeless, still modern, still romantic.

The classic scent includes a blend of the following: ylang ylang, violet, cedar, turkish rose, vanilla, peach, musk and bergamont.

What to wear to an evening event?

I'm going to a evening fundraiser (6:30). Tickets were $100 each; the event is a cocktail-type party at a gentleman's home. I was told it is a "formal" event and that men should wear suits (not tuxes!) and ladies should wear "evening wear."

Do I wear a floor-length black dress (fairly simple, no sequins) or a knee-length dress (black with purple flowers and a full skirt).

To me, "formal" means a floor length dress. But, if men are only supposed to wear suits (not tuxes), would that be too dressy? Should I stick with the shorter dress?
ahhh, the joys of figuring out what to wear. Everyone has a different opinion!!

The invitation only said "formal" and "evening wear." My UNDERSTANDING of the night is that it is a cocktail party (it is a home tour, drinks, finger foods, etc.)....I could be wrong on some of that.

Again, when I hear "formal", I think LONG dresses. But if the men are only in suits, I think that could be too much. I don't really know anyone else that is going that I could ask.........

NO, go for the long one. Evening and formal for me are: long and dark. You'll look stunning. Keep the longuette for an afternoon or a smart evening some other time.

    Is wearing flats a no-no?

...ultra glamorous evening social events usually call for ladies to wear long gowns. and believe you me the length of those gowns is meant for high heels. somehow the right height of heels (3" & above) makes the wearer floats & glides and the over-all effect is simply stunning.

flats is not really a fashion "no no" ...what's her name even wore rubber shoes underneath her gorgeous gown in an Oscar ceremony of decades ago.

wear what you feel is right for you to achieve the look you're going for. stand proud!
