Whats the best thing to wear to a semi formal winter dance?

I am going to a semi formal winter dance for school and I need to know what to wear and how to do my hair. It need to be winter clothing!! Please Help!!
saw this dress at macys.com...think something like this would be perfect 
short and shimmery gold!
for your hair i would do an up do, curls tend not to hold through a night of dancing...and if you go to a beauty school it won't cost so much $$$

Well maybe a skirt with leggings to keep you warm. Then you can have a spagetti top with a light warm shrug/sweater that looks elegant. Accessorize with hoop earings, ballet slippers, a shiny belt, hair do, bracelets, necklaces, heels, big top hat, santa hat, etc, etc. Trust me you’ll look great!
